Click Here To View Memorial Video Donald Martin “Marty” Anderson, 66, of Idaho Falls, passed away April 11, 2015, at his home of complications due to pneumonia. He was under the loving care of Yellowstone “Goodfellas” Residential Home and his family. Marty was born October 4, 1948 in Butte, Montana, to Wilford Donald “Don” Anderson and Lula May Cline Anderson. He spent his early years in Butte before moving to Idaho Falls, where he grew up and attended St. Leon Opportunity School - which was the first school in Idaho for developmentally disabled children. When Marty was 16 years old he transferred to the Idaho State School and Hospital in Nampa, Idaho, where he resided until age 24. He then returned to Idaho Falls, where he has been a resident with Yellowstone “Goodfellas” Residential Home until the time of his death. Marty worked at Smith’s Food King and the Yellowstone Group Home’s Deli, retiring in 2013. He regularly attended services at New Hope Church of God in Christ and participated in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Special Needs Adult Primary. He enjoyed bowling, participating in Special Olympics, rodeos, Elvis music, pop, coffee, western movies, taking walks, and watching Wheel of Fortune. Marty is survived by his sister, Linda Scalet of Suffolk, VA, and her children, Patrick Scalet and Jane Jones; brother, Scott (Laurie) Anderson of Idaho Falls, ID, and their children, Jeremy Anderson, Alyssa Anderson and Shayla Anderson; and sister, Michelle (Jim) Wiest of Idaho Falls, ID, and their children, Alec Wiest and Wyatt Wiest. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Lula Anderson. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Idaho Special Olympics, Idaho Falls - Yellowstone Grizzlies Team.
