Martina Gonzales

Martina Rodriguez Gonzales, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 27, 2013, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Hospice. Martina was born September 21, 1934, in Menard, Texas, to Seturnino Gonzales and Nicolasa Aguirre Gonzales. She grew up and attended schools in Menard. On December 31, 1950, she married Rigoverto G. Gonzales at Menard, Texas. Martina and Rigoverto made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Martina worked as a nurses aid for Lost River Hospital, a daycare provider, a restaurant owner, and a homemaker. She was a member of the Idaho Fall Catholic Community. She enjoyed sewing and needle point, but most of all, her children and grandchildren. Martina is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Rigoverto Gonzales of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Rigo Gonzales of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Victor Gonzales of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Lydia Gonzales of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Berniece (Boyd) Pack of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Martha (Jerry) Jones of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Bertha (Steve) Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Mark (Cathy) Gonzales of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Raymond Rodriguez of Junction, TX; brother, Pete (Lola) Rodriguez of Menard, TX; brother, Julio (Ellen) Rodriguez of Menard, TX; brother, George (Rosa) Rodriguez of Burley, ID; sister, Nicolasa "Coca" Garcia of DeLeon, TX; sister, Betty (Ray) Gutierrez of Menard, TX; half sister, Carlotta Rodriguez. 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, Seturnino and Nicolasa Roderiguez, brothers Paul and Frank Gonzales, a sister, Nance Velma, a grandchild Natalie Reyes, and her son-in-law, Mark Hansen. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 30, 2013, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with Deacon Wence Rodriquez officiating. A Rosary will conducted at 7:00 p.m. Friday, at Wood Funeral Home East Side. The family will visit with friends for a viewing at 6:00 p.m., prior to the Rosary. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
