Martin Joseph Scheer passed away surrounded by family on March 22, 2024, at the age of sixty-six.

Marty was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on January 10, 1958, to Joseph Henry Scheer and Sally Ann Lowe Scheer. He was the second of six children and the first boy born into the family.

Marty grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Holy Rosary Elementary School. As a child, Marty loved spending time with his siblings and friends. He enjoyed hitting the cruise with his buddies in his old red Volkswagen. Marty graduated from Idaho Falls High School where he was part of the first ROTC program in IF High history.

Marty had five beautiful children: Mandy, Cody, Shannon, Shaliece, and Kyle. He was a loving father and provider.

He retired in 2022 from Alpine Heating & Air in Idaho Falls after twenty years of service.

Marty loved golfing, fishing, camping, tinkering on his 1965 SuperSport Nova, and being with his family. Grandpa Marty was a favorite to all of his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his contagious laugh, loyalty to his family, and ability to make everybody feel welcome and loved.

Marty was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Henry Scheer; and his niece, Cinda Hulse.

He is survived by his mother, Sally Ann Scheer; his siblings, Cindy Hulse, Carla (Steve) Thueson, Mark (Amanda) Scheer, Connie (Marty) Mays, and Mathew (Markell) Scheer. He is also survived by his beloved children, Cody (Leslie) Scheer, Mandy (Mike) Rushin, Shannon (Buck) Nelson, Shaliece (Jake) Zundel, and Kyle Richardson; and by his seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Marty will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and all who got the pleasure to meet him.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 29, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Grant-Central Cemetery.
