Martha 'Martie' "Martie Lane" Lane

Martha “Martie” Lane, loving wife, mother, sister and friend, quietly passed away of leukemia on April 25, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born November 17, 1941, in Idaho Falls, the youngest daughter and seventh child of Ezra P. And Rosella A. Rhoades. She grew up and attended schools in the area. In 1961, she married Dean Crapo and the were later divorced. On November 7, 1992, she married Larry Lane. She worked for Snake River Produce, Yellowstone Leather, RT French’s, Pillsbury, and Basic American Foods in Shelley until her retirement in 2006. She was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Rexburg and a member of the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 1004 of Rigby. She loved working in her yard and traveling with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Survivors: Husband: Larry Lane, Rigby, ID Son: Brian Carson, Rigby, ID Son: Jeff (Brenda) Lane, Rigby, ID Daughter: Diana Lane, Blackfoot, ID Grandchildren: Adrianne Kelly and Brian Carson Jr. of Idaho Falls Tyson, Tasha, and Jeff “JJ” Lane of Rigby Crystal Russ of Texas Steven Shoults of California and Hiroki Narita, formerly of Japan, now living in California who came to be like a grandson in 1999. Brother: Arvin Rhoades, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: August (Pauline) Rhoades, Idaho Falls, ID Brother: Sharl (Carol) Rhoades, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Golda Burke, Idaho Falls, ID Sister: Faye Whitney, Idaho Falls, ID and numerous nieces and nephews She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Carl, Don and LeRoy; a sister-in-law, Colleen Rhoades; 2 brother-in-laws, Jess Burke and Bob Whitney; and one grandchild, Michael. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Women’s Auxiliary VFW Post 1004, Rigby, ID 83442. Funeral services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2011, at the First Berean Baptist Church, 2975 1st Street, with Pastor Joe Lacy and John Lovegrove, officiating. The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Saturday for one hour prior to the services at the church.
