Martha Knight

Martha Rosebelle Martin Knight, 91, of Idaho Falls, passed from this life Saturday, November 6, 2010, at her home. She was under the care of Hospice of Eastern Idaho. Martha was born July 3, 1919, in Wheeling, West Virginia to Frank Cyrus Martin and Bessie Maude St. Clair Martin. She grew up and attended schools in Wheeling, graduating from Warwood High School. She continued her education by attending the University of West Virginia and the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. On July 31, 1942, she married Wilson Burnell Knight in Wheeling, West Virginia. They lived in Steubenville, Ohio; Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and moved to Idaho Falls 39 years ago. She was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), White Shrine, Sociables Garden Club, Newcomers Club, Bridge Club, and was a past president of the IDF Federated Woman’s Club. Martha was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Idaho Falls since 1971. She enjoyed playing bridge, sewing, ceramics, knitting, cooking, crewel, beading, quilling, quilting, and many other artistic expressions. She won prizes at the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot for her quilling and glass beaded floral arrangements. Survivors are: Husband: Wilson B. Knight of Idaho Falls, ID Daughter: Joyce Claire Knight Kulp of Idaho Falls, ID Grandchildren: Eric B. Kulp of Rigby, ID, Heather JK Disbro of Coleville, CA, and 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at the Idaho Falls First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Revered Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.

The family will visit with friends Thursday for one hour prior to the services at First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street. Burial will be in the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery in Boise.
