Marshall Rapp

Marshall D. Rapp, 86, passed away Christmas Day, December 25, 2010, at Mountain Valley Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls. Marshall was born Friday, June 13, 1924, in Grace, Idaho, to LeRoy Arthur Rapp and Vada Durrant Rapp. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and joined the U.S. Navy in 1943. He worked as a motor machinist first class during World War II. He later attended IBEW Electrician Apprenticeship School. Marshall married Lucille Marie Thornton August 28, 1945, in Dillon, Montana. After leaving the Navy in 1945, he spent the majority of his working life as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for sixty two years. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, rock hounding, and traveling. Marshall was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and an amateur ham radio operator. Marshall is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lucille Rapp, of Idaho Falls, a son, David (Vonnel) Rapp of Pocatello, four daughters, Marsha (Gary, deceased) Baker of American Falls, Kristine (Jim) Hill of Tracy, California, Laurie (Don) Watters of Idaho Falls, and Suzanne (Tom) Robbins of Glendale, Arizona; a brother, LaMarr (Skip) Rapp; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Betty Mae (Staten), Nelda Jean (Hart), and Bonnie Mae (Ball). Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, with Bishop Kent Lott of the Idaho Falls LDS Lincoln First Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home. Military Rites will be performed by the Bonneville County Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friday December 31, 2010 , 11:00 a.m. at Wood Funeral Home

The family will visit with friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Wood Funeral Home. Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2011, at Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
