Mark Lee Stoneberg

Mark Lee Stoneberg, 67, of Idaho Falls, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 15, 2020, at his home from complications of a recent lung cancer diagnosis. He was surrounded by family. He was under the care of Hospice of East Idaho. Thank you Barbara.

Mark was born January 25, 1953, in Idaho Falls, to Arne George Stoneberg and Eleanor Mae Stoneberg (Sponeman). He grew up in Idaho Falls and attended Holy Rosary Catholic School and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. He also attended Vo-Tech (now College of Eastern Idaho) in the auto-mechanic program.

He married Vickie Tracy. They later divorced.

On November 26, 1994, he married Lorie (Loreenn) Groesser in Idaho Falls, gaining two sons from Lorie’s prior marriage.After two years they had a daughter and then later  added another daughter when they adopted Lorie’s niece. Mark and Lorie made their home in Idaho Falls,  where Mark worked as a Facility Operator for the INL for over 35 years.

He was a member of Crosspoint Community Church. He enjoyed Cribbage League at the Elk’s  (winning more than one tournament),  metal detecting, popcorn,  and music. He had an online music business (CDs and DVDs). He liked collecting stamps and hats.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Lorie Stoneberg of Idaho Falls; son, Keith Southam (Theodore Jackson) of Chicago, IL; son, Kurt Southam (Lexi Gonzales) of Idaho Falls; daughter, Briana Fullmer of Idaho Falls; daughter, Kyla Stoneberg of Idaho Falls; brother, Larry Stoneberg of Boise; brother, Ken (Susan) Stoneberg of Rigby; sister, Berta (Mike) Oates of Pleasant View, UT; and 4 grandchildren; Aidrick, Ryder, Jonah, and Emery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arne George and Eleanor Mae Stoneberg; brother, Keith Stoneberg; and sister, Margaret Stoneberg. Celebration of Life services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2020, at Cross Point Community Church, 1900 Grandview Drive, Idaho Falls, with Pastor Bob Sherwood officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Casual attire, please.
