Mark Laniohan

Mark Edward Laniohan, 63, of Idaho Falls, passed away July 14, 2017, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. Mark was born March 19, 1954, in Stockton, California, to Edward Laniohan and Esther Baca Laniohan. He grew up and attended schools in California and Hawaii, later graduating from Edison High School. He also attended ITT Technical Institute where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic Engineering. He served in the United States Army 101st Airborne Division and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1982, he married Helen Rene Treece. They were blessed with five children, Marcus, Gerae, Donald, Carla and Jennifer. They were later divorced, but remarried on May 15, 2004, in Reno, Nevada. Mark and Rene made their home in California where Mark worked as an IT Administrator for Primary Care Associates and Santa Rosa Cardiology. They recently moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Rene Laniohan of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Marcus Laniohan of San Diego, CA; son, Donald Laniohan of Santa Rosa, CA; daughter, Gerae (David) Lindsey of Rexburg, ID; daughter, Carla (Ben) Saling of Rohnert Park, CA; daughter, Jennifer Laniohan of OR; mother, Esther Laniohan of Stockton, CA; brother, Dennis (Regina) Laniohan of Oakley, CA; brother, Roger (Bonnie) Laniohan of Carmichael, CA; sister, Cindy (Peter) Huerta of Indio, CA; sister, Tina Laniohan of Stockton, CA; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward, and his granddaughter, Dixie. Private Family Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in the Boise National Veterans Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Boise Veterans Memorial Team and Idaho Honor Guard.
