Mark Douglas Jeffs

Bishop Mark Douglas Jeffs, 54, of Idaho Falls, Idaho died June 8, 2021 from COVID-19.

Mark was born on June 25, 1966 to JoAnn B and LaMont D Jeffs. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School and attended Ricks College and Eastern Idaho Technical College. Mark loved and served the people in Atlanta, Georgia, while serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

On October 26, 1990, he married his sweetheart, Alisa Bidstrup Jeffs in the Idaho Falls LDS temple.  They are the parents of four children.

Mark worked at the INL until he started his own business, E-Cyclers of Idaho. His success came from hard work and his innate ability to see value in things others had cast aside. He loved finding things his customers couldn’t find otherwise and he found joy in assisting those who couldn’t afford the computers and equipment they needed.

Mark played as hard as he worked. He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and riding four wheelers with his friends and his family.

Mark was a champion for good. He never sought fame or fortune. He was simply too invested in others for that. Mark made friends with the wealthiest and poorest among us, and loved them equally and wholeheartedly.  He was a champion for the little man--the poor, the friendless, the downtrodden, and the disenfranchised. He was a loyal and true friend. He loved and served his family with all he had to give. His joy in life came from making others smile with his jokes, card tricks, funny stories, service, and generosity. He loved to have fun and was known to his many nieces and nephews as the “fun” uncle. He had a gift for making everyone he interacted with feel that they were the most important person to him.

Mark was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was devoted to serving and becoming like Jesus Christ. He loved God and tried to live in a way that would reflect how much he loved Him.

Mark is survived by his wife, Alisa Jeffs; four children, Austin Jeffs, Jade (Drew) Callister, Porter Jeffs, and Hannah Jeffs; and his siblings, Glenda Arave, Margaret (Ralph) Ley, and Mont Jeffs. He was preceded in death by his parents.
