Mark Hansen

MARK HANSEN MESQUITE, NV -- Mark LeRoy Hansen passed away March 5, 2010, in Mesquite, Nevada, surrounded by his wife and children after his courageous fight with Scleroderma. Mark was born April 20, 1954, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Lyle F. Hansen and Gloria Hinckley Hansen. He graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1972. On February 4, 1983, he married Berniece Gonzales in Las Vegas, Nevada. They spent 26 wonderful years together. He loved his wife and children more than words can say. Mark is survived by his wife, Berniece, three sons, Rocky Hansen, Brett Hansen, and Tory Hansen, daughter, Ashley Hansen (Jarrod) Wendler, his parents, Lyle and Gloria Hansen, his brother, Craig, sister-in-law, Robyn Hansen, and his Grandmother, Grace Hinckley. He loved his grandkids, Shelby and Caden, from Henderson, Nevada. He also loved his many nieces and nephews. Mark worked at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant (ICPP) starting in 1974, and worked there for 22 years as a Hoisting and Rigging Specialist. He was Production Maintenance Foreman/Supervisor over laborers, equipment operators, carpenters, and painters. Mark worked as a Subcontractor for EG&G Technical Services at the Idaho National Laboratory Central Facilities area as a Hoisting & Rigging Trainer, and also worked as a Hoisting and Rigging Specialist for Portage Environmental Company. Mark was assigned to the Three Mile Island Fuel removal from Test Area North (TAN 607) at the Idaho Chemical Processing Plant. He was a case worker for the DOL Energy Employers Compensation Program, where he helped former INL employees. Mark loved sports, especially coaching his kids in baseball. Mark never missed any sports his kids played. He also loved waterskiing, snow skiing, fishing, and hunting. He loved to ride motorcycles and riding horses at his Grandpa Hansen’s. He loved doing things with his family and loved his parents and brother very much. Mark retired in 1996 to spend more time with his family. He loved every moment with his family. He enjoyed taking family trips and supporting his family in education, sports, and all of life’s lessons. He enjoyed woodwork, landscaping, and Native American artwork. Mark is preceded in death by his sister, Deanna Isaacson, his Grandparents, Dean Leroy Hinckley and Ida Hinckley Adams, William Leroy Hansen and Wanda Hansen. A viewing for family and friends will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10th, at Wood East Side, with Rosary Services to follow at 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Taylor Cemetery, 129th South 13th East, Shelley, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
