MARJORY TRAUGHBER IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Our loving mother and grandmother, Marjory Thiebaud Traughber, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007, in Idaho Falls with her daughters by her side, following a valiant three-year fight with cancer. Marjory was born May 16, 1925, in Long Beach, California, to Morton Justi Thiebaud and Alice Eugena LeBaron Thiebaud. She loved growing up in California, where she attended school. After graduating from Hanford High School, she attended Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. In January, 1949, Marjory moved to Idaho Falls to help her uncle, Ted LeBaron, manage his new restaurant. She worked there for the next 40 years, making friends of all the customers. She knew everyone by name and loved to joke and visit with them. In December, 1949, she married Vernon Paul Strecker. They had two daughters born to them, Kathy and Jeanie. They were later divorced. She married Rufus Daniel Traughber August 31, 1957, in Salmon, Idaho. They enjoyed 48 years of married life before Rufus passed away October 4, 2005. They loved to travel, collect antiques, and visit with both their families. Marjory loved to crochet afghans and other intricate pieces to give to all her family. She was known for her amazing talent of cooking and serving a beautiful meal. Her family gathered at her home every Sunday to enjoy her feasts. She also loved to travel and especially loved to visit her brother, Wayne Thiebaud and his wife, Betty Jean, in California. One of her favorite trips was to see her brother’s art show in New York City. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she enjoyed being a visiting teacher and attending the temple. “Grandma” was the heart and soul of her family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the nurses of Aspen Hospice, EIRMC, and Dr. Kevin Mulvey and Megan and all of his staff for their expert and tender care. She leaves behind two daughters, Kathy Price of South Jordan, Utah, and Jeanie (Dave) Cousin of Idaho Falls, and her brother, Wayne (Betty Jean) Thiebaud of Sacramento, California. Her grandchildren are Amy (Kirby) Horrocks, Becky (Victor) Schill, Rachel Cousin, Erik (Dani) Cousin, Tom (Deeanna) Price, David (Amy) Cousin, Natalie Price, Sara (Todd) Spaulding, Heather (Trent) Taysom, Pamela Cousin, and Megan Cousin. She also has 17 great grandchildren. She has four stepchildren, Julene (Eldon) Dixon of Dothan, Alabama, Alice (Gene) Richards of Picabo, Idaho, Ralph (Ruth) Traughber of Swan Valley, Idaho, and LaDonna Edwards of Blackfoot, 11 step grandchildren, Ramona, Bryce, Delano, Brent, Scott, Janene, Kathy, Robert, Donald, Curtis, and Jeff, and 22 step great grandchildren. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two step grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, Idaho Falls, with Bishop James Hunter of the Idaho Falls LDS 26th Ward officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. and Thursday for one hour prior to the services, both at Wood Funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. --------------------------------------- Condolences sent online: Dennis Collins dencol4@yahoo.com Cathy, I was very sorry to read about the passing of your mother. She was such a fine lady. I still think of her, Jeanie and you from time to time. I hope things have gone well for you, although I can only imagine that they have. I would enjoy hearing from you if you ever have the time and inclination. Dennis Collins dencol4@yahoo.com
