Marjorie Zink

Marjorie Brown Zink, 82 of Ammon, passed away July 8, 2010 at her son's home from cancer. She was under the care of Aspen Home Health & Hospice. She was born December 20, 1927 in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Worthy “WD” and Myrtle Henderson Brown. She attended elementary school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1948. She married Richard Zink December 24, 1951 in Idaho Falls at the home of her parents. Richard preceded her in death on June 20, 2001. Over the years, Marjorie worked as a cashier at Russ's IGA, and as a housekeeper and Instrument Technician at EIRMC. She retired in 1986 and was the primary care giver for her husband. She began working at the Rigby Senior Center in 2003 as a Kitchen Aid, and was a Teachers Aid at Harwood Elementary. Marjorie was a Resident of Idaho Falls for 75 years, Rigby for 5 years, and Ammon for 3 years. Marjorie was a member of Calvary Chapel, she enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and spending time with friends and family. Survivors: Son: Frank (Callene) Zink of Ammon Several nieces and nephews, and many wonderful friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, WD & Myrtle Brown; sisters, Beulah May, Ardell Brown Talbott; and brothers, Russell Brown, Ken Brown. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010 at Calvary Chapel, 4250 South 25th East, with Pastor Gordon Boyle officiating. Family and friends will meet for one hour before services. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N Ridge Ave.
