MARJORIE STANLEY
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Marjorie F. Stanley, of Idaho Falls, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend was reunited with God on November 14, 2005.
She was born May 16, 1925, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Frank Campbell Fletcher and Mabel Elizabeth Lundeen Fletcher. She attended schools in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Home Economics from the University of Minnesota, where she was president of Alpha Xi Sorority. Upon graduation, she worked at Schumacher Fabrics in Minneapolis where she won the Annual Personnel Design Contest for her original fabric design.
She married Ira Lloyd Stanley on September 13, 1952, in St. John’s Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, Minnesota. They lived in Minot, North Dakota, and moved to Idaho Falls in 1957.
She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church and has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Office Assistant. She was very active in community service with groups such as Brownie Scouts as a Troop Leader, Idaho Falls Women’s Club, Eastern Star, Jobs Daughters and P.E.O. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling the world, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her three daughters, Mary Gale (Jay) of Kirkland, WA, Carol Colonel (Jay) of Pocatello, ID, and Barbara Fuchs (Daniel) of Twin Falls, ID, and nine grandchildren, Kurtis and Thomas Gale, Jeremy and Tyson Kepler, Jacob, Ryan and Chelsea Fuchs, step grandchildren, Christian and Morgan Colonel, and her sister, Muriel Lachman (Roger) of Tuscon, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Lloyd Stanley.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church, 325 Elm Street, with Reverend Dr. Dennis Falasco officiating. Burial will be in the Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge. There will be a celebration of Marge’s life at the First Presbyterian Church immediately following the Graveside Services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Idaho Falls.
