Marjorie Louise Widerburg Homer, 79, passed away December 17, 2013, at Parkwood Meadows Assisted Living Center. She was born at her family home in Coltman, Idaho, on September 23, 1934. She is the daughter of Leonard Orlando Widerburg and Martha Louise Moser Widerburg. She attended schools at Coltman and Garfield before attending and graduating from Rigby High School in 1952. She worked at a doctor's office and as a secretary at the site. She married the love of her life and eternal companion, John Theurer Homer, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on August 19, 1954. She worked for the Dean of Women at Idaho State University while her husband obtained his degree. She lived in Richland, Washington, in 1956, where her husband was employed by General Electric. They moved back to Idaho Falls in 1957, so that her husband could join Homer Koster Company. She worked in Idaho Falls and Gilbert, Arizona, as a Teacher's Aid and loved being around and helping children. Marjorie raised her three sons and one daughter in Idaho Falls. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and Guide Patrol Leader. She had many callings in the LDS church including Primary Teacher, Primary President, Mutual Teacher, Young Women's Stake President, Relief Society First Counselor and Temple Ordinance Worker. She lived in Mesa, Arizona, for more than twenty years and then lived in Hillsboro, Oregon, for a few years before returning to Idaho Falls to be near friends and family. She enjoyed many summers at her cabin in Island Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Homer; and her brothers, LaMar (Molly, deceased) Widerburg and Ray (Cheryl Ann) Widerburg. She is survived by her brothers, Robert (Luana) Widerburg, Richard "Butch"(Diane) Widerburg, Oliver "Ole" (Margaret) Widerburg, Melvin (Dee, deceased) Widerburg; her only sister, Sandra (Robert) Rice; sons, Bradley John (Jill) Homer, Scott Widerburg (Angela) Homer, Alan King (Judy) Homer; and her only daughter, Susan Leone Homer (Joseph) Schwartzenberger. She has seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren. She loves her family and cherishes her friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2013, at the LDS Church at 4375 E. Sunnyside Road, Ammon, Idaho. A visitation will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Burial is at Fielding Memorial Park on South Yellowstone Highway.

11 a.m. ,Saturday, January 4, 2014 Ammon LDS 10th Ward 4375 E. Sunnyside Ammon, ID 83406 Notes: The family will visit with friends on Friday from 6-8:00 p.m. at Wood East Side (963 S. Ammon) and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
