MarJean Drake, 75, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 16, 2016, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
MarJean was born January 27, 1941, in Plano, Idaho, to Clarence Hymas and Melba Bird Hymas. She grew up and attended schools in Plano and graduated from Sugar Salem High School.
On August 6, 1958, she was married and sealed to Ted Drake in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born four children, Gary, Brett, Jeff, and Krissy. MarJean and Ted made their home in Idaho Falls, where MarJean was a bus driver for Bonneville School District #93. She was an excellent mother, wife, grandmother, and sister.
MarJean was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed coaching T-Ball, baseball, bowling, camping, fishing, fly tying, gardening, sewing, and embroidering. She enjoyed working on genealogy and family history. She loved her grandchildren.
MarJean is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Ted Drake of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brett (Kellie) Drake of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Jeff Drake of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Krissy Drake of Idaho Falls, ID; brother, Ronnie (Carol) Hymas of Newdale, ID; sister, Judy (Floyd) Wilson of Firth, ID; brother, Mickey Hymas of Idaho Falls, ID; 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Gary Lynn Drake.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2016, at the Woodruff LDS 1st Ward, 1660 12th Street, with Bishop Cazier officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road, and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Victor Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Wood Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
