Marion Minton, 87, of Idaho Falls, Idaho, passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012, at his home. He was under the care of OneSource Hospice. Marion was born March 25, 1925, in Union City, Ohio, to Jacob Walter Minton and Jennie Elizabeth Brandenberg Minton. He grew up and attended schools in Union City. On October 20, 1956, he married Helen Irene Perkins at Pleasant Hill Congregational Christian Church in North Salem, Indiana. Following their marriage, they lived in Union City and Greenville, Ohio. Together they raised one son, Scott. Helen passed away in Idaho Falls on May 10, 2003. Marion was a member of the First Congregational Christian Church in Greenville, Ohio. He worked in the automotive industry at Backstay Welt Company and BASF. Marion enjoyed watching college football, especially Ohio State. He was an avid reader and loved antiques. Survivors include: Son: R. Scott (Mandy) Minton of Idaho Falls, ID; Sister: Flo Sister: June; 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2012, at the Ammon Cemetery.
