Marilyn Piquet

Marilyn Jean Piquet, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 24, 2018, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. Marilyn was born June 1, 1931, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Edward R. Kain and Evelyn Pedersen Kain. She grew up and attended schools in Council Bluffs and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. She also attended business school. She worked for 20 years at Union Pacific while in Iowa. On April 9, 1966, she married Myron Nickell Piquet from Driggs, Idaho, in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Idaho. Marilyn and Myron made their home in Idaho Falls, where Myron worked for Coke and then Pepsi as a repairman most of his careers and Marilyn worked at various jobs as a secretary. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and enjoyed working with the church members. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time with her husband. She was involved in the Christian Women Club and held leadership positions throughout the years. Marilyn is survived by her loving husband, Myron Piquet of Idaho Falls; sister, Carol Lee Kain of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, Lynn (Phyllis) Kain of Council Bluffs, IA; sister, Kay Kain (Robert) Driver of Council Bluffs, IA; brother, Dennis Kain of Council Bluffs, IA; brother-in-law, Laren (Laura) Piquet of Driggs, ID; and sister-in-law, Nila (John) Gentry of Idaho Falls, ID. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Evelyn Kain; sister, Jeanne Kain Swanger; brother-in-law, Jerry Swanger; and parents-in-law, Martin and Dore Piquet. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2018, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 North Water Avenue, Idaho Falls, with Reverend Ruth Marsh officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in the Bates Cemetery in Driggs, Idaho.
