Marie Josina Walker

Marie Josina Walker, 21, of Iona, passed away September 6, 2021, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 10, 2021, at the Iona Cemetery, 4962 East First Street.

This what her brother, Ricky wrote, about Marie a year ago.

Marie is majestic as a tiger, elegant as a leopard, and serene as a lazy lion. Wonders filled her bosom brimming with hope and desires. Reaching so high to touch the sky only to come down to lift up another. Fleeting as a deer, wise like an aged elephant. She was a unicorn with a magic horn. A magic horn of love and light. We will miss you Marie and may you touch your stars with all your might.

I just want to add a memory. Marie and I were talking about the five wise and five foolish virgins. She said that she would give her oil lamp to one who didn't have. What a young woman.
