Alice Marie Hocking Jernberg, 84, of Monteview, Idaho, passed away March 31, 2013, at The Gables Assisted Living Center in Ammon.
Marie was born January 30, 1929, in Arco, Idaho, to Thomas A. Hocking and Clara V. King Hocking. She grew up in Howe and attended schools there and in Blackfoot, graduating from Blackfoot High School in 1946. She earned her bachelor’s degree in teaching from Idaho State College, in Pocatello.
On June 12, 1954, she married Harry Jernberg in Howe, Idaho, and they settled in Monteview to farm. A homemaker, mother, and farm wife, Marie also taught school at Terreton Elementary School. Harry passed away April 15, 2005.
She was a member of the Mud Lake Community Church. Marie enjoyed gardening, horses, music, and her grandchildren.

Son, Darrell Jernberg of Pocatello, ID,
Son, Clyde (Leslie) Jernberg of Shelley, ID,
Son, Cory Jernberg of Idaho Falls, ID;
5 granddaughters, 2 grandsons, and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Tom Hocking. Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at the Mud Lake Community Church, 1122 East 1500 North, Terreton. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Small Cemetery near Dubois, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
