Ella Marie Swearingen Haddon, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 13, 2022, at Briarwood Assisted Living. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice.
Marie was born February 12, 1942, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Harold Bryan Swearingen and Luella Marie Smith Swearingen. She grew up and attended schools in Ammon and Idaho Falls.
On February 18, 1961, she married Blaine H. Haddon in Twin Falls, Idaho. They were sealed together for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 9, 1974. Marie and Blaine made their home in Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was the Primary President for nine years and Young Women’s President for three years. She loved to crochet afghans, go on adventures, like driving four hours for a hamburger, then four hours back home. She was a frequent visitor to Lagoon and Yellowstone. She drove stock cars and ran a wedding business that she built from the ground up.
Marie is survived by her loving daughter, Hayden Haddon of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Emily Elaine (Butch) Aders of Idaho Falls, ID; two grandchildren, Vince Haddon and Hayley Bohney; and two great grandchildren, Alexandria and Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Bryan Swearingen; mother, Luella Marie Swearingen; husband, Blaine H. Haddon; and brother, Carey Bryan Swearingen.
Private family services will be held.
