On February 15, 1961, she was adopted by her new mother, Opal Heileson and new father, Eugene Clayton and became the youngest child in a family of six children with one older sister and four older brothers. She was the baby sister for whom her older sister, Marsha, had prayed for many years. She grew up for the next four years on an island in the Snake River north of Idaho Falls. When Marianne was five years old, the family moved to Ammon, Idaho and she started school at Ammon Elementary and later attended Junior High and Bonneville High School. While in Ammon, her father remarried and she had two more brothers. Marianne married Marlin Ordway in November of' 1985 and to this union were born two sons, Matthew and Mitchell who were the light of Marianne’s life. Marianne attended a special course while living in Phoenix, Arizona, which qualified her to be a Business Manager. The family lived briefly in Dubois, Wyoming, before moving to Idaho Falls, Idaho where she and her sons have lived since. She and Marlin were later divorced. Marianne is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her church activities along with crafting and especially being a mother to her two sons.
