Mariana Raquel Parkes

Mariana Raquel Parkes, 45, of Ammon, passed away May 2, 2025, at her home. She was under the care of her loving family and Aspen Home Health & Hospice.

Mariana was born August 15, 1979, in San Luis Obispo, California, to John Duran and Maria Bustos Duran. She grew up and attended schools in Clovis, California, and graduated from Buchanan High School. She also attended Cal State University in Fresno, California, and earned her Bachelor's Degree in General Education and a teaching Credential. She enjoyed art, music, gardening, and pickleball.

On June 12, 1999, she married and was sealed to Robert Lee Parkes, Jr., in the Oakland, California Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mariana and Robert made their home in Fresno, California, where Mariana taught kindergarten for 12 years. They moved to Ammon, Idaho, in June 2023.

Mariana is survived by her husband, Robert Parkes, Jr.; children, Celeste Alicia Parkes, Joseph Michael Parkes, and Rachel Catalina Parkes of Ammon, ID; parents, John and Maria Duran; siblings, Daniel Sebastian Duran, Miguel Andres Duran, and Angela Marie Duran of Clovis, CA.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Ammon Cemetery.
