Marian Hall

MARIAN J. HALL IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Marian June Hall, 88 of Idaho Falls, peacefully passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in the afternoon of July 2, 2008, with her close family at her side. She was born June 21, 1920, in Ashton, Idaho, to Gertrude E. and John R. (Ridley) Williams. Marian was the middle child with Jack Williams, her older brother, and Lois Phillips, her younger sister. Growing up together in Ashton, they lived in a house built by their grandfather. Upon graduation from high school, her main focus became her friends and family. She married Kenneth Olsen shortly thereafter, from which her first daughter, Peggy, was born. The marriage ended in divorce. In 1942 she married the love of her life, Leslie W. Hall, a sailor in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During the war they lived in California, Oregon, and Tennessee, eventually settling down in Ashton, where she had a long and joyous career with Mountain Bell until she retired. Leslie began working with the INEL and they moved Idaho Falls. In 1955 they adopted their son, Dennis Leslie Hall. They then moved to Firth, Idaho, where they raised their son. In 1972, they bought a motel in Island Park, where they lived until retirement, at which point they moved back to Idaho Falls. Marian was a wonderful woman with nothing but love to offer the world. Family has always been the most important thing to her. When she wasn't spending time growing closer to her siblings, children, grand children and great grand children, she was giving back to the community. She was heavily involved with such charities such as Telephone Pioneers, where she would hand sew teddy bears for traumatized children, and the ASPCA. When not spreading her love to people and family, she was outside planting and nourishing beautiful gardens. Marian also enjoyed traveling with her sister and daughter to such places as, Alaska, Nova Scotia, Washington, D.C, Canada, and Victoria, B.C. When not spending time with family or volunteering, she was at home in her comfy recliner with her three cats, Yowee, Sylvester and Cali, who meant the world to her. Marian is survived by her sister, Lois Phillips of Fremont, CA, daughter, Peggy Nelson of Sacramento, CA, son, Dennis (Sherry) Hall, grandson, Ty (Christine) Hall, and great grandchild, Leslie Hall, all of Idaho Falls, granddaughters Sierra (Jesse) Ramos, Heidi (Miguel) Ramirez and great granddaughter, Rae'lee Ramos, all of Blackfoot, grandsons, Jeffery Scott and Robert Nelson of Sacramento, CA, granddaughter, Vickie (Stephen) Nelson Yatsko, and great grandchildren, Stephanie Yatsko, and Michael Yatsko, all of Pleasanton, CA, as well as another grandson, Zachary Hembreiker, of Prescott, Arizona Marian was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leslie Hall, a brother, Jack Williams, and great grandchild, Christopher Stephen Yatsko.
