Mari Angeles Obert, 56, of Idaho Falls, passed away after a short illness on September 25, 2012, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Mari was born June 2, 1956, in sunny Seville, Spain, to Marvin James Armstrong, Jr. and Maria Francisca Rodriguez Armstrong. She grew up in Seville and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She later moved to Bryan, Denton, and College Station, Texas. Idaho Falls was her happy home for the last 12 years.
On September 6, 1987, she married Dennis Gregory Obert in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas. After marriage, Mari’s dream avocation was to be a loving, nurturing, and dedicated mother during her life. Three fantastic children came to bless the lives of Mari and Dennis.
Before her marriage, Mari was a business school graduate and attended Texas A&M University for two years, studying foreign languages. Following this, she worked in International Student Services as an executive assistant at the university. Mari was a devout Roman Catholic. She enjoyed dancing, drawing, knitting, needlepoint, and singing. Mari was a jokester and took extreme pride in raising her wonderful children.

Son, Nathan James Obert, of Moscow, ID;
Son, Trevor Christian Obert of Idaho Falls, ID;
Daughter, Heather Marie Obert of Moscow, ID;
Mother, Maria Francisca Armstrong, Bryan, TX;
Brother, Richard E. Armstrong of Round Rock, TX;
Brother, James T. Armstrong of Austin, TX;
and a sister, Eleanor F. Armstrong-Head of McKinney, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin James Armstrong.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 6, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 237 N. Water Avenue. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue, and from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church.
