Click Here To View Memorial Video Margo Andrasen Decker, 74, passed away August 16, 2015, at Morning Star Assisted Living Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends during the last few days of her life. Margo was born April 23, 1941, to Wando J. Andrasen and Mabel Leona Woodfield Andrasen, in St. Anthony, Idaho. She was the youngest of six children. Her father was postmaster in St. Anthony and her mother was a homemaker. Margo was a “tomboy” growing up. She hunted, fished, and became very proficient with a gun. She played drums in the high school band and could even march and keep rhythm at the same time. She attended schools in St. Anthony and graduated from South Fremont High School in 1959. Later she attended Glenn E. Clark Business College at Ricks College in Rexburg and Eastern Idaho Technical College. She began her federal career in 1968, working for the Forest Service in St. Anthony and then transferring to the Social Security Administration in Idaho Falls in 1973. With over 33 years of federal service, she retired in January of 2002 as a claims representative with SSA. She married Randell J. Richards in 1958. Their children are Brenda Lee Richards, Trent Randall Richards, and Tom Carter. She loved her family and was always encouraging them to take advantage of educational opportunities. After their marriage ended, she moved to Idaho Falls, where she later married Quinn Decker. This marriage ended in 1991. Membership of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was very important to her. Margo held many callings, including Relief Society teacher, ward missionary, humanitarian representative and singles representative. In 2004, she was called to serve a full-time mission in Dublin, Ireland. Her favorite calling was that of visiting teacher, which gave her even more of an opportunity to serve others. Margo had many, many friends, with whom she loved to play games – sometimes until 3:00 in the morning. She loved to golf, bowl, and enjoyed hiking surrounding areas. She enjoyed reading and especially traveling. She and her friends would jump in the car and drive to Salt Lake to take in a play and dinner. Her journals are filled with adventures, including snorkeling in Hawaii, witnessing the winter solstice at Newgrange Ireland Tomb, climbing the pyramids in Mexico, and spending many summers in Newport, Oregon, and snow-birding in St. George, Utah. Margo is survived by daughter, Brenda Lee (Scott) Emery of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Trent Randell Richards of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Tom Carter of Grangeville, ID; sister, Carma Andrasen Oliver, of Mapleton, UT. 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Joe Andrasen; and three sisters, Zoe Andrasen Owens, Nina Andrasen Rudd, and Carol Andrasen Carter.
