Margie Young Haycock

Margie Young Haycock, 81, of Terreton, passed away April 24, 2018, in Idaho Falls.

Margie was born January 15, 1937, in Osgood, ID, to AJ and Teressa Quinton. She grew up on the family farm in Mudlake with 11 brothers and sisters, no electricity, and no indoor plumbing until her teenage years.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the first of her family to graduate from high school. She took piano lessons for ten years, she played piano for Relief Society for 30 years, as well as playing in other church organizations.

Margie married Carling Nathaniel Young and they were sealed in the Manti Temple. They moved from state to state to state and back again while their family grew and grew. They finally bought land in Terreton where her last child was born. She lost her husband a few short years later.

She remarried a couple of years later to Deral Haycock and settled into enjoying her favorite things like family, gardening, canning, crochet, and quilting. She was an avid quilter who made quilts for children, grandchildren, and many in the community. She enjoyed all these things up until the very end.

Margie outlived her brothers and sisters by several years. Also preceding her in death were her parents, both of her husbands and two sons.

Margie has eight living children, 17 grandchildren, and a growing bunch of great-grandchildren.
