Margie Christensen

Margie LaDell Christensen, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 20, 2017, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community. She was under the care of her loving family and OneSource Hospice. Margie was born September 11, 1923, in Vernal, Utah, to Charles Adelbert "Delbert" Schanno and Maggie Monahan Schanno. She grew up and attended schools in Vernal and graduated from Uintah High School. On March 29, 1945, she married Boyd Leon Christensen in Vernal, Utah. To this union were born three children, Stephen, Max, and Peggy. Margie and Boyd moved to Boise, Idaho, in 1960, after her husband founded Western Construction. Margie was a wife, mother, and homemaker. Their early years were spent living in various places in the United States and South America while Boyd worked as a project engineer for Morrison-Knudsen Construction Company in Boise. Her husband passed away April 19, 1980. An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, throughout her life she had many callings. She served as Relief Society President and Primary President. She also served as a teacher in these organizations. She served as a worker in the Boise Temple and loved her service there. Margie enjoyed gardening, sewing, and traveling with her husband. Margie is survived by son, Stephen (Bobbie) Christensen of Ririe, ID, daughter, Peggy Christensen of Idaho Falls, ID, sister, Loraine (Jerry) Hofer of Vancouver, WA. 6 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Max Boyd Christensen, a sister, Vonetta Searle, and a brother, Robert Wade Schanno. Margie was loved and cherished by her family. She had a special relationship with all who had the privilege to know her. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS 2nd Ward, 885 South Boulevard, with Bishop Jay Doman officiating. The family will visit with friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial services will be held at 12 Noon Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Cloverdale Memorial Park, 1200 North Cloverdale Road, Boise.
