Margene Judy Tirrell, 87, of Ammon, passed away May 6, 2026, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Margene was born July 29, 1938, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Rulon Clifford Judy and Marjorie Merrill Judy. She grew up helping on the dry farm during summer and fall harvest. She always enjoyed being outside and helping her family. Margene attended schools in Ammon and graduated from Bonneville High School in 1956.
On April 25, 1958, she married Lennis Gene Tirrell in the Idaho Falls Temple. Margene and Lennis made their home in Ammon, Idaho, where they owned and operated various businesses, including the Speedi Marts in Ammon and Idaho Falls.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Daughters of Utah Pioneers, and The Associated Wholesale Grocers. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, being with family, and spending time with them. “They all think they are her favorite.” She also loved supporting her grandchildren’s activities.
Margene is survived by her husband, Lennis Tirrell of Ammon, ID; son, Brian (Linda) Tirrell of Ammon, ID; daughter, Marlene (Mark) Peterson of Middleton, ID; son, Rodney (Ruth) Tirrell of Ammon, ID; daughter, Judy (Kendell) Ward of Rigby, ID; daughter, Janet (Dustin) Schmitt of Ammon, ID; son, Neil Tirrell of Boise, ID; bonus son, Felipe (Sami) Lake of Salt Lake City, UT; brother, Lyle Judy of Ammon, ID; brother, Dan (Carla) Judy of Ammon, ID; sister, Diann Pierson of Ammon, ID; and 24 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Doug Judy; and brother, Max Judy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the Ammon 1st Ward, 3000 Central Avenue, with Bishop Jared Cappson officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road, and Thursday from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Ammon Cemetery.
