Margarete Josefa (Von Zworowsky) Alexander

Margarete Josefa von Zworowsky Alexander, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 9, 2019, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.

Margarete was born July 29, 1936, in Kassel, Germany, to Lothar W. von Zworowsky and Anna Mathilde Tingelhoff von Zworowsky. She grew up and attended schools in Kassel. She also attended Ursinus College in Pennsylvania, before returning to Germany.

In 1961, she married Herbert W. McCoy in Kassel, Germany. To this union were born three children, Deborah, Michael, and Stephanie.

On December 16, 1978, she married Joel Dennis Alexander in Bakersfield, California. Margarete and Dennis retired and made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, having coffee with friends, and playing games with friends and spending time with family.

Margarete is survived by her loving husband, Joel Dennis Alexander of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Deborah Punt of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Stephanie McCoy of La Crescenta, CA; daughter, LaRenda (Toni) Perez of Marysville, WA; son, Tony (Melissa) Alexander of Vancouver, WA; daughter-in-law, Chris Alexander of Templeton, CA; grandchildren, John Michael (Elizabeth) Punt, Rebekah Punt, Anna Punt, Sadie Perez, Avery Alexander, Ethan Alexander, Charlotte Alexander, Jonah Alexander, and Braeden Alexander; and great granddaughter, Katherine Punt.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lothar W. von Zworowsky and Anna Mathilde von Zworowsky; son, Michael W. McCoy; stepson, Alan Alexander; brothers, Wolfgang and Rudolf von Zworowsky; and sister, Eva Marie Greene.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2019, at Calvary Baptist Church, 785 First Street, with Reverend Matt McGukin officiating. A reception will follow.
