Margaret Zweifel

MARGARET ZWEIFEL IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Margaret Agnes Zweifel, 81, of Idaho Falls, died July 2, 2008 at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born April 4, 1927, in Hibbard, Idaho, to Vernon Clark Withers and Agnes Margaret Ricks Withers. She grew up in Hibbard and graduated from Madison High School in 1945. She worked in Kings department store and attended Ricks Academy, where she met Glenn Zweifel. They were married November 15, 1946, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Margaret spent most of her married life in the Monteview and Dubois areas, where she and her husband farmed and owned a cattle ranch. This is where they raised their six children. They all worked on the farm and ranch together. Margaret's wonderful home-cooked meals for family, hired men, and the cowboys on the cattle drives are legendary. So is her quick wit and her sense of humor. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many teaching and leadership positions. After her husband Glenn retired, Margaret enjoyed the beautiful yard and amazingly productive gardens that Glenn planted. She and Glenn eventually moved to Idaho Falls in 2001 because of health concerns. Glenn passed away May 14, 2002. Margaret was a wonderful mother and homemaker. She loved to tie quilts, sew, embroider, read, oil paint, watch old “classic” movies, and visit with her many friends and family. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family has always been her highest priority. Survivors include: Son: Stephen (Pam) Zweifel, Idaho Falls Daughter: Arlene (David) Sargis, Idaho Falls Son: David (Annette) Zweifel, Dubois Daughter: Linda (Richard) Hill, Boise Son: Robert Zweifel, Mesa, AZ Daughter: Kathy (Lani) Schofield, Buhl, ID Brother: Russell (Carol) Withers, Rexburg Sister: Lois Winter, Rexburg 28 Grandchildren & 37 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn, brothers Carl and Blair, and grandson Brian Sargis. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2008, at the Ammon LDS 6th Ward, 2150 Avocet, under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Monday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and from Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. --------------------------------------------- Condolences received online: Grant & Annette Hunter We were saddened to hear of the passing of your mother. May the comforting spirit of the Lord be with you and yours. How greatful we are for the plan of salvation and the hope it gives us. Please accept our sympathy. Grant and Annette Hunter Karen Pincock mgpkrp@gmail.com I am Margaret's first cousin. My father (Frank Ricks) was Agnes' brother. We lived just down the street from Aunt Agnes and Uncle Vern, and a vivid memory I have of Margaret is that she used to play paper dolls with me. I was 11 years younger than her, but she was always very patient with me and I thought she was doing it because she wanted to. NEVER did she make me feel that I was a bother to her. I haven't seen Margaret since I was married and moved away (52 years ago), but I will always remember her sweet and loving personality. I know that when she got to the other side, Heavenly Father said, "Well done; enter into the arms of my love!" I know she will be missed by those she left behind. Janice Fransen janicefransen@msn.com Dear Family, I was so saddened to hear of Margaret's passing. I always enjoyed visiting with Margaret. She always had a twinkle in her eyes, she was fun, informative, and a joy to be around. I appreciated that she introduced me to some good books. It seemed like yesterday that I saw her at the temple dedication in Rexburg. She will be missed by everyone that knew her. I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely with Love, Janice Fransen Beryl Engberson Wadholm riknbcs@hotmail.com To the Zweifel Children/Grandchildren. My thoughts are with you at this time of your mother's passing.
