Margaret Wood

Margaret Catherine Packer Wood, 85, of Ammon, Idaho, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2015, at the home of her daughter in Sandy, Utah.

She was born August 16, 1930, in St. Anthony, Idaho, to Grant Parkinson Packer Sr. and Florence Peck Packer. At the age of six, the family moved to Idaho Falls, where she attended schools and graduated from Idaho Falls High School. She continued her education by attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

On September 6, 1950, she married Ralph Marlowe Wood in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. To this union were born nine children, Catherine, R. Marlowe, Deborah, Walter, Von, Matthew, Mark, Charlotte, and Paul. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Margaret was also involved in many community activities, including Red Ribbon Week, Miss Idaho Falls Pageant, IFHS Booster Club, and PTA.

She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in the Relief Society, Young Women, and Primary organizations. She and Ralph served full-time missions together in the Boston Massachusetts Mission and the New York New York South Mission. When Ralph was called into the Idaho Falls Temple Presidency, she served as an Assistant Matron there and also enjoyed many years as a temple worker.

Margaret's life was devoted to serving and lifting others. She was valiant in her testimony of Jesus Christ and shared that testimony in word and deed. She will be dearly missed by her family and the many friends whose lives she touched.
