Margaret Ann (Wilson) Glass

Margaret Ann Glass passed away May 8, 2024, in Idaho Falls, Idaho.

Margaret was born in Oklahoma City on May 15, 1942, to Ethel and Cecil Wilson. She had two older brothers, Ray Wilson and Bill Wilson.

She was married to Terry Ray Glass on April 20, 1962, until his death on July 19, 2013. Their love was strong and enduring.

Margaret and Terry had a son, Michael, in 1965, and a daughter, Kelli, in 1968. They were wonderful parents, and our family was always a top priority to both of them. Margaret and Terry cherished and adored all of their grandchildren as well and was affectionately known as “Mema” to everyone. (Kaitlin, Elisa, Travis, Sarah, Kyle, & Bryan).

Margaret had a love of nature and enjoyed scenic drives and time on the lake. She developed a love for bass fishing and still holds the record biggest bass in the Glass family. In their golden years, Margaret and Terry spent considerable time out on the water night fishing together and enjoying life.

While their children were young, Margaret and Terry spent vacations each year at Shangri-La Resort on Lake Ouachita near Hot Springs, Arkansas. They also brought cousin, Tia, and Michael's best friend, William.

Margaret worked many factory jobs throughout her career, and purposefully worked jobs that would give her the experience needed to apply at GM when they completed their facility. She was smart, a quick learner, and talented with her hands. She was proud to be one of the GM's “relief workers” who could fill in for every position on the line when people took their breaks and lunches. She was approached for a promotion to management, but turned it down. She wanted to do what she loved best and that was work alongside her co-workers and do her job well. She was offered an early retirement and was able to retire at age 52. She used that time wisely and spent it with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

She visited her son’s family in Idaho/Montana often, and had an annual tradition of touring Yellowstone with her daughter-in-law, Debbie, and grandchildren. Those trips will always be precious memories and we plan on continuing the tradition. In 2014, she joined them in Alaska for a family vacation.

Margaret (and Terry) had a strong faith in God and believed deeply in Jesus Christ and all that he taught and stood for. During her working years, she spent her lunch time studying scriptures and had many great friends from various churches she attended over the years.

Margaret was an amazing listener and her kids and grandchildren loved to talk with her about all their goals and adventures. She was witty, generous, patient, organized, and neat & tidy. There was not a speck of dust or hair to be found, and if there was, it wouldn’t be there for long! Her home was a place of peace and serenity for all who entered. Her adult grandchildren loved to visit her often.

Margaret was very crafty and used to sew for her grandchildren, quilt, paint acrylic artwork and wooden crafts, and loved beading jewelry. She loved rocks and collected unique rocks from all the places she visited. Margaret and her granddaughter, Elisa, had a special tradition to find “heart” shaped rocks and bring them to each other. She loved planting flowers and making her yard the prettiest on the block. Margaret never raised her voice or gossiped, and she saw good in everyone. She was, and will always, continue to be an inspiration to all who knew her.

We are grateful, Mema, for the LOVE you gave and the amazing example you set for us.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
