Idaho Falls, ID - Margaret Oliverson Keller Vest, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away May 20, 2011.
Margaret was born April 9, 1928, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Royal Keller and Annie Oliverson Keller. Except for extended visits to family members in Seattle, Washington, she was a lifetime resident of Idaho Falls. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School. Margaret has been a licensed Cosmetologist since the 1940's, and enjoyed completing courses in real estate, sales and photography even in her later years. She worked at Sears for many years, operated a home rental business and worked as a telephone operator.
One of the happiest days of her life was when she married Waldo Clair Vest on October 8, 1948 in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple.
Margaret is survived by her son, David Vest, and her daughter, Rebecca Vest (Donna Gaw). She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Darwin, her brothers Roy J. Keller and Kenneth O. Keller, and her sister Iris Lance.
Margaret was defined by her unfailing optimism, unconditional love and faith in herself, God, and her family. She endured the loss of her husband and son with uncompromised grace and dignity. Even with the loss of one eye in 2006 Margaret kept her sense of humor, and delighted in telling people that she "shot it out with a Red Ryder BB gun" and then slipping a chocolate eyeball into their hand.
She was one of the founding members of the Eastern Idaho Photo Society and was an incredible photographer her entire life. Two of her juried photos are currently on display at the Eastern Idaho Medical Center.
