Margaret Stadtman

Click Here To View Memorial Video By Her Family Margie M. Stadtman, 87, of Hamer, passed away February 7, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Margie was born June 26, 1927, to Elbert and Stella Hendren, at her grandparent’s home on Tahoe Ridge, outside of Kooskia, Idaho. She attended grade school at the Kidder Ridge school house until the family moved to the top of Glenwood to continue farming. She attended one year of high school in Kamiah, Idaho. She was talented in many areas, but one of her favorite responsibilities was cooking for the harvest crew on a ranch on the Camas Prairie. On October 5, 1946, she married Bill Stadtman in Grangeville, Idaho, and they lived in the Kooska area, buying a ranch on Battle Ridge. Together they raised their children, and numerous others who lived with them through the years. After Bill’s death in 1986, she moved to Stites, Idaho, where she continued to be active in the Rebecca Lodge. Her illness necessitated the move to live closer to her son and his family in Hamer, Idaho. Margaret is survived by her daughter, Lynne (Ray) Ortiz of Albuquerque, NM; son, Roger (Dena) Stadtman of Hamer, ID; son, Jack Hendren of Hamer, ID; one grandson and three granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, eleven brothers, one granddaughter, and one grandson. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 13, 2015, at Trenary Funeral Home, 18 1st Avenue, Kooskia, Idaho. The family will visit with friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue, and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Pinegrove Cemetery. The family would like to thank Tracy, Alice, Shelley, and Griselda, the wonderful women of Hamer, and the Hands of Hope Hospice staff, who helped lovingly care for their mom in her last few months.
