Margaret Nadine Allred Laird, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away March 6, 2011, at the home of her daughter in Rexburg, Idaho. She was under the care of her loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice. Nadine was born April 16, 1923, in Fairview, Wyoming, to Harvey Rich Allred and Margaret Lovina Barrus Allred. She grew up in Fairview and attended schools in Afton, Wyoming. After graduating from high school she took her nurses training at LDS Nursing School in Idaho Falls, and earned her bachelor's degree as a Registered Nurse. Nadine married Rulon “Flint” Laird June 29, 1945, in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls. Nadine was a homemaker and mother and worked as a Registered Nurse at Riverview Hospital. Flint died January 25, 1975. Nadine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in the Primary, Relief Society, and Boy Scouts of America. She was a visiting teacher for more than 60 years. She enjoyed quilting, reading, and canning. Nadine made the best bread in the world. Nadine is survived by her three daughters, Penny (M. Kay) Bybee of Rexburg, ID, Sandra (Robert) Haller of Idaho Falls, ID, Connie (Michael) Ball of Nampa, ID; five sons, Kent (Tami) Laird of Kemmerer, WY, Harvey Laird of Idaho Falls, ID, James (Darla) Laird of Idaho Falls, ID, Kelly Laird of Idaho Falls, ID, Brent (Varvara) Laird of Idaho Falls, ID; a brother, Laren Allred of Smithfield, UT; five sisters, Joyce Jenkins of Layton, UT, Shirley Nelson of Logan, UT, Carma Jenkins of Centerville, UT, Lynette Staples of Clearfield, UT, and Deanne Humphries of Thayne, WY; 22 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson, Karl Ray Bybee, a great grandson, Jordan Bybee, and a great granddaughter, Kenadi Welker. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at the Idaho Falls LDS 19th Ward, 3370 North 500 West, Idaho Falls, with Bishop David Johnson officiating. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, and from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the church. Burial will be next to her husband in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
