Margaret Viola Candland Fowler, 83, of Idaho Falls, passed away on September 23, 2017, at Life Care Center of Idaho Falls.
She was born December 7, 1933, in Blackfoot, Idaho to James Earl Candland and Viola Nellie Ashton Candland. She grew up and attended schools in the area, graduating from Blackfoot High School. She later received her Licensed Practical Nurse certificate from LDS Hospital in Idaho Falls.
In 1951, she married Alfred Fowler and they had three children: Deborah, Gregory, and Dana. They were later divorced. Margaret worked as an LPN at LDS Hospital and State Hospital South.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her unwavering faith was with her to the end of her life. She had a firm testimony of our Lord and Savior. Margaret loved singing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by: daughter, Deborah (Gary) Hagen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Gregory (Connie) Fowler of Poplar Grove, IL; son, Dana (Cynthia) Fowler of Salt Lake City, UT; 11 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, JoAnn Hansen and Elaine Wilson; a grandson, Chris Fowler, and a granddaughter, Jamie Hill.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017, at the Idaho Falls LDS Brentwood Ward (2040 Brentwood Drive) with Bishop Grant Stone officiating. The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 7-8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) and on Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park.
