Margaret Borresen

Margaret Celestia Borresen passed away June 16, 2012, in Boise, Idaho. Margaret was born June 16, 1919, in Richfield, Idaho, to Bill and Celestine Tomlinson. Margaret attended Idaho State University, receiving a two year degree in Education, transferred to the University of Idaho, where she received her BS in Home Economics. In 1943, while attending University of Idaho, she met the love of her life, Con Borresen, and they were married for 50 years. She and Con owned the Credit Bureau of Blackfoot and were active in the community there. They later moved to Idaho Falls and owned and operated the Credit Bureau of Idaho Falls. They loved working together, were mentors to many and well respected in the credit industry. She was a member of the Associated Credit Bureaus of Idaho and Idaho Collectors Association. After retiring in 1989, Margaret became active with SCORE, PEO where she held numerous offices, and the Idaho Embroiders Guild and numerous bridge clubs, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Margaret loved having family and friends around and was a marvelous entertainer. She always enjoyed whipping up her favorite cakes or pies for a special occasion. She never visited a friend without a treat in hand. She was Bill, Tom and Celeste's greatest fan and enjoyed attending baseball, basketball, football games and tennis matches. The holidays found her sharing a plate of her famous candy and cookies with friends, a tradition she passed on to her daughter. One of her many talents was her ability to create beautiful art with needle and thread. Her handcrafted needlework can be found in homes of her family and many friends. In her earlier years she was often called upon to make vestments for Monsignor Verhoeven, and Fathers Later and Keyes, as they knew of her ability to turn a simple piece of fabric into a work of art. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Con, her parents, and two brothers. Bill and Ed. She is survived by her sons, Bill (Debbie) Borresen of St. Louis, Tom (Trish) Borresen of Jerome, and daughter, Celeste (Bill) Keller of Boise, grandchildren, Natalie Borresen, Andrew (Jenna) Borresen, Amy (Cory) Miller, Katie Keller, one great grandson. Nathan Miller, and one great granddaughter, Gabrielle Renshaw. She embraced her role as "Grammie," a name coined by her oldest granddaughter, Natalie.
