Marcia Swearingen

Marcia Ann Swearingen, 76, of Idaho Falls, passed away June 4, 2017, at her home. She was under the care of Encompass Home Health and Hospice and her loving family.

Marcia was born August 7, 1940, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Glen Clayton Gneiting and Mary Edna Dunn Gneiting. She grew up and attended schools in Jameston, Basalt and Firth, Idaho.

On January 31, 1956, she married Aldon Swearingen in Twin Falls, Idaho. To this union were born four children, Miles, Rick, Brenda and Sherie. Marcia and Aldon made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Marcia worked at Ernst and Ponderosa.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saints. Marcia enjoyed fishing, cooking and spending time with her family.

Marcia is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Aldon Swearingen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Rick Swearingen of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Miles Swearingen of Idaho Falls, ID; daughter, Brenda Swearingen of Idaho Falls, ID; sister, Sandra Jones of Idaho Falls, ID; 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Sherie Swearingen and sister, Linda Meacham.

A gathering will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2017, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge Avenue.
