Marcella Zollinger

Marcella Gordon Zollinger, 87, of Idaho Falls, passed away on October 24, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center. She was born May 21, 1924, at Blackfoot, Idaho to Lawrence Alvin Gordon and Edith Brewer Gordon. She attended grade school in Wapello and graduated from Blackfoot High School. She continued her education by attending Ricks College for 1 year. She moved temporarily to Lajunta, Colorado to help build B-25 bombers for the war effort. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked as a custodian for Bonneville High School. Marcella was a member of the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Posse. Marcella had many talents including crocheting, gardening, making dolls, and was an avid quilter making 65 quilts for the Veteran’s Home in Pocatello. She was extremely efficient and when she wanted something done, she wanted it done yesterday. She also enjoyed watching Nascar, golf, baseball and politics. Survivors are: Daughter: Darlene (George) Bott, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Ted Johnson, Idaho Falls, ID Son: Jenks (Mary Messmer) Jenkins. Idaho Falls, ID 7 Grandchildren, 18 Great Grandchildren, and 10 Great Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Grove City Cemetery in Blackfoot, Idaho. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 6:30-8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge).
