Marcella Tracy

Marcella Virginia Jephson Tracy passed to the other side at the home of her daughter, Carol, on Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Marcella was born in Ammon, Idaho, on May 23, 1916, to Leslie L. and Selma Timm Jephson. She lived in Coltman, Idaho, while growing up. Marcella had two sisters and six brothers. Her surviving siblings are William, Harry, and Peter.

Marcella married Max Tracy of Ucon on February 13, 1936. She and Max lived in Ucon, Idaho, and raised six children: Larry Max of Lake Havasu City, AZ; Carol Mitchell of Boise, ID; Van Claire (deceased); Leslie Harold of Carlin, NV; Sonja Lee of Oak Creek, CO; and Terry Lynn of Idaho Falls, ID.

Marcella loved to travel and traveled to Hawaii and the Dominican Republic to visit her daughter, Carol. She went to the Bahamas to visit her daughter, Sonja, and various other places in the United States to visit her sons and daughters-in-law. She also went to Europe and the United Kingdom with her sister, Annie.

Marcella was a caring individual with a very strong will. She took care of her mother-in-law while she was ill; took care of her own mother while she was ill; her husband, Max, when he was ill; and helped care for her father after her mother passed away.

In 1981, Marcella’s husband, Max, passed away. In 1984, she sold the family home in Ucon and moved to the Jephson family home in Coltman. She later sold this property and purchased a home in Idaho Falls.

Marcella had a kind heart, a fierce mind, and a brave soul. She was our "rock" and is loved dearly by all her children and family. We will miss her.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. Burial will be in the Ucon Cemetery.
