Maralyn Olson

Maralyn Eileen Olson, 65, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 9, 2017, at her home.

Maralyn was born November 2, 1951, in Jefferson County, Idaho to Jack Stanford Olson and Margaret Eileen Madsen Olson. She grew up and attended schools in Rigby, graduating from Rigby High School. She also attended Ricks College (Associate of Arts), Idaho State University (B.S Radiological Sciences), Townsend University (B.S English), and Texas A&M University (M.A Composition and Literature).

On June 9th, 1971, she married Donald Madsen in Idaho Falls. To this union were born three children, Ryan, Rhett, and Shannon. Maralyn and Donald were later divorced. She married Paul 'Randy' Hulkovich on February 25, 1983 in Aberdeen, Idaho. They had a son, Zach. They were later divorced.

Maralyn made her home in Idaho Falls, where she loved her horses and time with her grandchildren. She loved puttering around in her house full of memorabilia she had gathered in her years spent traveling abroad as a military spouse.

Maralyn is survived by her son Ryan (Erika) Madsen of East Helena, MT; son Rhett (Rhia) Madsen of Sparks, NV; daughter Shannon Madsen of Boise, ID; son Zach Hulkovich; brother, Robert Ahrendsen of Rexburg, Idaho; brother Brett Olson of Twin Falls, ID; and 8 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ty Ahrendsen.
