Manuel Nunez

Manuel Galaviz Nunez, 65, of Shelley, passed away March 24, 2026, at Teton Healthcare of Cascadia.

Manuel was born July 24, 1960, in Parral, Chihuahua, Mexico. He grew up working on the farm and provided for his family.

He married Maria Aguirre de Nunez in Mexico in 1982. Manuel and Maria made their home in Shelley, Idaho, where Manuel worked as a rancher his whole life.

He enjoyed fishing, horse races, and loved spending time with his grandkids, family, and friends.

Manuel is survived by his son, Alex Nunez (Viviana Garcia) of Shelley, ID; son, Jose Nunez of Firth, ID; daughter, Christina Aguirre of Firth, ID; daughter, Dani Aguirre of Firth, ID; brother, Jose Nunez of Mexico; brother, Refugio Nunez of ID; sister, Gerarda Aguirre of Firth, ID; sister, Soledad Nunez of Mexico; and 8 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Nunez; father, Salvador Nunez; brother, Martin Nunez; and grandson, Gabriel Manuel Nunez.

A service will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 South Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 6-6:45 p.m. prior to services at the funeral home.
