Manny (Manuel) Juarez, 57, of Rigby, Idaho, passed away Friday, September 1, 2017, at the Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho following a short illness.
He was born March 28, 1960, in Mexicali, Mexico, to Maria de Refugio Mojica and Manuel Juarez Segura, Sr., the oldest of five children.
Manny was raised in Mexicali, Mexico until the age of 19. After finishing high school, he then moved to the San Fernando Valley where he met up with his parents and other family members. He then started working at the same location where his father worked. It didn’t take long before he was able to move up in the company and become their foreman.
It was at this time that he met the love of his life, Maria Anabel Ocampo through mutual friends. After dating for 3 ½ years, they were married on November 26, 1983 in California. There, they raised a beautiful family of four amazing children—three daughters and one son. Because Manny and Ana wanted a change of scenery and a better place to raise their family, they moved to Idaho in 2004 where some of Ana’s family already resided. Manny returned to California where he had a job and worked saving money, traveling back and forth.
From 2007 to the present, Manny had been a valued employee at Premier Powder Coating & Custom Fabrication, serving his employer, employees, vendors, customers and community of Rexburg and throughout Idaho, Utah, Wyoming, and Nevada. Manny always had a friendly smile, a compassionate heart, and a listening ear. He was a friend to all who knew him.
Manny enjoyed food, hiking, being clean and organized, camping with his family and more recently with his wife where they would watch movies, read books, take a nap, eat snacks, go for a walk, or just sit and enjoy being together amongst God’s beauties. He also loved to work. Whether he was at work or at home, Manny was always working. He found joy in it. He liked to work on mechanical projects with his son, Junior. He enjoyed Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays where he could be with his family. At the beginning of the year, he would pull out the calendar and plan out his year of vacation days from work with his family. He loved Sunday dinners. He valued family time. Manny enjoyed listening to oldies music, the 70s in English or Spanish, Michael Jackson, the Eagles, and the Beatles. He would take Ana by the hand and dance with her.
Manny was a member of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife, Ana, and their four children, Ariana (and Jose Luis Sanchez Garibay), Yesenia (and husband Rodolfo Lamas), Brenda, and Manuel III ("Junior"), grandchildren, Rodolfo "Rudy" and Leyla, his mother, Maria, brothers Roberto, Jose Luis "Peter", Leonardo "Leo", and a sister, Edna. He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel Juarez Segura, Sr.
A mass will be held Saturday, September 9, at 11:00 a.m. at the church of Christ the King (corner of 17th and Woodruff) in Idaho Falls. A viewing will be held that afternoon from 2:30-4:00 at the Wood Funeral Home (273 N. Ridge) in Idaho Falls.
The family would like to thank all family and friends who have been part of Manny’s life. A fund is set up for the Manny Juarez Family via Premier Powder Coating, 115 N 2nd W, Rexburg, ID, 83440 in lieu of flowers, where the family will receive the benefits.
