Manuel Basabe Bilbao

Manuel Basabe Bilbao, 78, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 25, 2023, at Lincoln Court Retirement Community.

Manuel was born September 28, 1945, in Bilbao, Vizcaya, Spain, to Cipriano  Basabe and Maria Asunsion Bilbao. He grew up in Spain with his parents and 2 siblings, where he helped work on the family farm.

He joined the military in Spain and served in Africa. After the military he went to carpenter school, he then moved to the United States where he became a shepherd. After his time as a shepherd he went into construction and later became a miner. During his life he bought land and built multiple homes. He also bought a hotel in Boise, Idaho, and fixed it up. Manuel was an extremely hard worker and was very successful during his life. He retired at the age of 65 because of health issues. He was a good man with a very compassionate heart.

Manuel is survived by his siblings, Jesus Basabe and Maria Antonia Basabe, and his good friend, Elias Larios.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cipriano Basabe and Maria Asunsion Bilbao.
