MADELINE H. BURNHAM IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Madeline Horton Burnham, 84, of Idaho Falls, passed away February 19, 2006, at Lincoln Court Retirement Center. She was under the care of Hands of Hope Hospice. Madeline was born November 10, 1921, in Santaquin, Utah, to George Everett Horton, Jr. and Chesty Ann Bennett Horton. She grew up in Santaquin and attended Santaquin Elementary School and Payson High School. She received her nurses training at Salt Lake General Hospital and graduated from the University of Utah in 1946 as a Registered Nurse. Madeline married Wilmer Parley Burnham September 7, 1946, in Palmyra, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Oakland, California, LDS Temple April 22, 1978. They made their home in Lovell, Wyoming, until 1957, then lived in Littleton, Colorado, for 50 years. They moved to Idaho Falls five years ago. She was a homemaker and mother and also worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement at age 70. She worked 45 years at Porter Memorial Hospital in Denver, Colorado. Her husband passed away January 3, 2003. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities over the years, including Visiting Teacher. Madeline enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and had a green thumb. She loved crochet, needlepoint, traveling, and reading good books. Surviving are: Son: Jon C. (Vicki) Burnham of Iona, ID Daughter: Kathryn Burnham of Murray, UT Son: Don L. (Janice) Burnham of Littleton, CO Son: Dan E. (Anne) Burnham of Oak Hills, VA 12 Grandchildren & 8 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by her siblings, Camilla, Everett M., Howard B., Rollo E., Lawrence, Jean, Joe E. Horton, and Neta M. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 North Ridge, Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends Wednesday for one hour prior to the services at Wood Funeral Home. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2006, at the Lovell City Cemetery in Lovell, Wyoming. The family will visit with friends for one hour prior to the services at Haskell Funeral Home, 459 Nevada Avenue, Lovell, Wyoming. Arrangements are under the direction of Wood Funeral Home. I am glad that she is not hurting anymore and is with Wilmer now, but I am sad at the same time because I miss her. Take care.
