Click Here To View Funeral Service MacKenzie Nicole Madden, born July 22, 1994, at Offutt AFB, Nebraska, was killed July 14, 2014, in Logan, Utah. MacKenzie lived in Nampa and Boise most of her life, attending Park Ridge and Maple Grove Elementary, South and West Jr. High. Our family relocated to Idaho Falls in 2009. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in 2011, a year ahead of schedule, when she was just 16 years old. A student at Utah State University, MacKenzie graduated Magna Cum Laude, receiving her bachelor’s degrees of art in sociology as well as psychology with a minor in criminal justice and a certificate in law and society area studies. In 2013, she completed an internship with the Logan Police Department researching active shooter situations. She would have finished college in December and planned to attend the police academy with the hopes of eventually fulfilling her dream of working for the FBI. MacKenzie is survived by her parents, Carrie & Jim Madden, her sister, Allie Madden, grandparents: Herb Dennison, Barbara and Richard Madden; aunts and uncles: Bob (Pauline) Dennison, Bud Dennison, Randy (Tammy) Dennison, Jeff (Jaz) Dennison, Rik (Dolores) Madden, Christine (Jeff) Shellito, Barbara (Ken) Falci; cousins: Eranda (Pat, Joshua, Kite) Noa, Joey (Brandie) Dennison, Raaj Chavez, Chris Dennison and his girlfriend Sarai Jacobson, Greg, Chris and Emmeline Shoemaker, Wade and Erin Madden. We will always remember that beautiful smile, numerous freckles, her tender heart, and her willingness to help others. Our family would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Logan Police Department and the Logan Victim Advocate Team for their dedication and compassion. We would also like to thank our family, friends, and co-workers for all of your love and support, for we could not make it through this journey alone.
