Clairelyn “Lynne” “Gabby” McKinley Holm, 80, of Idaho Falls, passed away August 21, 2015, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
Lynne was born June 14, 1935, in Rexburg, Idaho, to Clifford McKinley and Maureen Holman McKinley. She was the third of five children, Brent (deceased), Jeanne, Renita, and Elaine. She grew up and attended schools in Rexburg and graduated from Madison High School in 1953.
In September 1955, she married Ralph T. Sorensen. They were the parents of three children, Carrie, Tamara, and Stephanie.
She was known by many people in the 1960s and 1970s as “Gabby” because of her love of life and unmistakable laugh while working a second job at the local tavern to support her girls.
In February 1971, she married Claren Paul Holm and added four children to her family, Corey, Layne, RaKell, and Edee. Blending two families was quite a large task and they did it well, as you can see by the large number of extended family. Lynne and Claren made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where Lynne worked as a homemaker.
Lynne was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She was a proud member of the Idaho Falls Elks Lodge. She loved to snow ski and water ski. She enjoyed golf later in life.
