Marilyn Pearl Miller Forbush Gilgen, 84, of Rexburg, passed away November 2, 2024, at Homestead Assisted Living. She was under the care of her loving family and Homestead Home Health & Hospice.
Lynne was born June 20, 1940, in Rossland, British Columbia, Canada, to John Christopher Miller and Ruth McKim Miller. She grew up and attended schools in Rossland, British Columbia. She also attended Ricks College for one semester.
On August 5, 1959, she married Jack Forbush in the Idaho Falls Temple. Lynne and Jack made their home in Malad, Idaho, moving to Iona, Idaho, in 1980 where they continued to raise their seven children: six sons and one daughter. They owned and operated Jack’s 6-12 store for 20 years. Jack passed away on July 16, 2011.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings through the years. She and Jack served a mission in Novosibirsk, Siberia, Russia. She enjoyed swimming, painting, cooking, attending the temple, and caring for others.
On July 5, 2014, Lynne married Stanley Andrew Gilgen in Idaho Falls.
Lynne is survived by her husband, Stanley Gilgen of Rexburg, ID; son, Kevin (Christine) Forbush of Shelley, ID; son, Todd (Trina) Forbush of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Brent Forbush of Draper, UT; daughter, Tonya (Scott) Bird of Idaho Falls, ID; son, Tracy (Julie) Forbush of Eagle River, AK; son, Tyler (Heather) Forbush of Caldwell, ID; son, Brandon (Danielle) Forbush of Rock Springs, WY; sisters, Evie Jones of Renton, WA and Kay Baker of Spanish Fork, UT; 40 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth Miller; husband, Jack Forbush; sister, Joyce Nickoriuk; brother, John “Jackie” Miller; daughter-in-law, Karen Watson Forbush; and granddaughter, Kristie Bird.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, at Wood Funeral Home East Side, 963 S. Ammon Road. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:30-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Both visitations will be held at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Iona Cemetery.
