LYNN J. WHITMILL
IDAHO FALLS, ID -- Lynn J. Whitmill, 75, of Idaho Falls, died September 29, 2001, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center.
He was born in St. Anthony, Idaho, October 9, 1925, to John Whitmill and Isabell Francis Hanny Whitmill. He grew up and attended schools in St. Anthony graduating in 1943. He served in the Army as a Staff Sargent during WWII and the occupation of Japan.
He married Vaudis Valberg May 20, 1944, and they were later divorced. He married Lila Moore Heileson in 1965 and she preceded him in death. He married Mabel Delna Mikesell Sewell March 27, 1996 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After high school he worked for Federal Express before serving in the military. He was the 14th person hired at the AEC Site when it opened and he worked there as a security guard and as an office manager until his retirement in 1987.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For many years he served as a Scout leader and was a High Priest at the time of his death. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1087 and was the Exalted Ruler from 1974 to 1975.
He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed snowmobiling, camping, traveling in his R.V. and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and second wife.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m Wednesday, October 3, 2001, at the Idaho Falls LDS Templeview Ward, (1450 Mountain View Lane) with Bishop Dennis Reilly officiating. The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home and for one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be in Shelley-Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
