Lyle was born on June 5, 1962, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Frank Edward Pinnock and Lois "Fay" Pinnock. He was the second oldest of four children, and close in age with many cousins in whom he was raised close to. He attended schools in Clark Fork, Idaho; Libby, Montana; and then Rigby, Idaho; and graduated from Rigby High School. Lyle was a naturally gifted athlete and held high school records in track, football, and baseball. He was also a friend to nearly everyone he met, and had many lifelong friends. After graduation, Lyle attended Ricks College on Scholarship for baseball, where he majored in late night, friendly, Pinochle tournaments with his friends. He later went on to earn an Associate’s Degree with Penn State.
In 1983, he met his future wife, Kristine Jo Brown, on a blind date with friends. When asked what his first impression of her was, he noted, “She was a babe . . . I was hooked.”
On July 18, 1984, they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple. The pair settled in Pocatello, Idaho, and later moved to Idaho Falls to be closer to family. Lyle worked for Viking Sprinkler Co. for over 30 years and valued his honest, hardworking reputation.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various capacities, including working with the Youth and in the Elders Quorum. He loved "schooling" the youth on the basketball court and in any other competitive opportunity that presented itself.
Lyle is survived by his wife, Kristine Jo Brown Pinnock; his mother, Lois Fay Pinnock; children: Jessica (Dakota) Corbridge, Cameron (Shantell) Pinnock, Jordan (Devin) Hess, Dalon Pinnock, and Landon (Addisyn Spaulding) Pinnock; siblings: Jodi, Lonny (Mona), and Derrin (Michelle) Pinnock; and eight grandchildren, of whom he was their biggest fan. Lyle cherished his family.
He was preceded in death by his father, Frank E. Pinnock; father-in-law, Darwin Reed Brown; mother-in-law, Barbara Ann Brown; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Wayne Webb; nieces: Ronie Pinnock and Sara Brown; and nephews: Rhett Pinnock and Dylan Freeman.
Lyle leaves behind a legacy of living life with no regrets. He valued his reputation of being an honest person who worked hard to accomplish the things he desired. Lyle valued the relationships and memories he made throughout his life, and will leave these values on in the example he set for those that knew him.
Our family would like to thank the care teams of Teton Cancer Institute, Huntsman Cancer Institute, and OneSource Hospice for the care they provided to Lyle during these last few years. We would also like to thank his favorite nurse, Tegan, for all she has done for our dad.
